A variety of conferences and learning opportunities exist to help individuals maintain the REFP Credential. The crediential is verified through a point system in which individuals are required to earn 15 points in 3 years.

**The individual is required to provide a full description of the activity, time involved, and professional growth area or skills gained for the activity. Eligible activities may include training events or publication relevant to the field of educational facility planning. Documentation will be reviewed and appropriate points assigned.
Waivers for Candidates in CEFPI-San Diego State University Program
Candidates who complete the CEFPI-San Diego State University online certification program will be eligible for a waiver to the REFP requirements including the existing three-year membership requirement to gain REFP status. However, they would be required to join CEFPI, pay membership dues and the REFP maintenance fee. Existing REFP members who complete the SDSU/CEFPI online certification program will be eligible to satisfy their 3-year requirement for renewal of 15 points.
