Scholarship program a success
New in 2010, the VEFP offered conference scholarships to school personnel who were knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the process of designing and constructing new and modernized schools. VEFP believes that such personnel are critical to the success of all school construction projects, and desires to offer school personnel a quality knowledge base and to inspire their enthusiasm for the process.
The 2010 scholarship program was a success, with over 15 scholarships awarded. Read the below excerpt from a scholarship participant describing his conference experience:
"Thank you for awarding me the $500 scholarship to attend the most recent VEFP conference in Roanoke Virginia.
It was indeed a privilege to have this opportunity to interface with so many committed professionals. I have a new found respect for all of the many parts that go into the whole of educating our youth. While my focus is primarily in the facilities realm, I have come away with a better understanding of the needs as requested by the educators and how this plays an integral part in producing and designing the schools of tomorrow.
Again, it was a pleasure to attend this conference and I hope to do so again in the future."
Many thanks to our conference sponsors who made this scholarship program possible. We look forward to another successful scholarship program in 2011.
